The story that comes to mind today is about my present self being grateful for my past self burial.

for the past 2-3 weeks i have had a person visit for about 2 hours to discuss different topics in the bible. In our discussions i have shared that I see our discussions as sharing information. It's about what's right, not who's right. In our conversation i felt a need to repeat that statement.

It came to a point where i shared something and he told me NO. I was briefly in shock and then asked him "at what time during any of our discussions have i told you no? that what you shared is wrong?" He replied "you haven't." I proceeded saying "in that case sir, you have just disrespected me in my own home and by your answer, I have never disrespected you."

Within myself, i wanted to tell him to get out and never come back. Instead we finished our conversation. I volunteered to him that I looked forward to our conversations and that I didn't know his intent. However, if his intent is to convert me, I told him that his effort is futile and I even made a joke of it by referring to Star Trek and the Borg "Resistance is futile".

The old self would have had no control, cursed him out, told hime to get out of my apartment and never come back.

The old self has been buried by the new man, and I feed the new man habitually every day. It is only because of my feeding the new man that when this situation came up that I responded in the way that I did.

As the body lives off the food that is eaten, likewise the quality of life and the relationships we have with others lives off of the things that we feed our mind (mindset). The things that i feed my mind(set) through the five senses influence my personality, character, beliefs, morals, faith, etc.

Are you tired of feeling stuck in a cycle of negative thoughts, self-doubt, feeling stuck and held back by your own limiting beliefs? Do you long for a breakthrough that will help you achieve lasting success and happiness? Look no further! Understanding when and how to use your mindset effectively will transform your life and empower you to achieve the success you deserve, without wasting precious time and energy. So, let's get started!

When is Mindset Used?
Mindset is not just a concept limited to success and positive thinking; it is a powerful tool that can be applied to various aspects of your life. Here are some key areas where mindset plays a pivotal role:

  1. Personal Growth: Mindset is key to growing as a person. It helps you become stronger, face tough times, and think in a way that's focused on growth. When you think with a "growth mindset," you see problems as chances to learn and get better. Personal growth isn't just a one-time thing; it's something you work on your whole life. The way you think plays a big part in this. Believing that you can get better with effort, and not just stay the same, is important. It's good to learn new things, think about yourself and your choices, and not let negative thoughts hold you back. With a growth mindset, you can keep changing and doing better.

  2. Relationships: How you think greatly affects how you relate to others. When you have a positive and caring way of thinking, you can talk and understand others better. This helps make your bonds with people stronger and more real.

The way you think matters both for your own growth and for making deep connections with people. Thinking positively helps you approach friendships with an open heart and mind. When you focus on growth, you and those around you can work together better and help each other grow.

  1. Career and Success: How you think plays a big part in how far you go in your job and in life. By having a growth mindset, you're ready to take on new chances, deal with tough times, and keep going when things get hard. If you focus on growing and learning, you'll move closer to reaching your job goals.

  2. Health and Well-being: How you think really affects your health, both in your body and mind. When you think positively, you can lower stress, bounce back from tough times, and generally be healthier. This way of thinking encourages you to take care of yourself, build good habits, and lead a healthier life.

    How to Master Your Mindset:
Now that we understand the importance and application of mindset let's explore some effective strategies to master your mindset:

  3. Self-awareness: Start by becoming conscious of your current mindset. Recognize any limiting beliefs or negative thought patterns that are holding you back. Journaling and self-reflection exercises can assist you in gaining clarity and insight into your own mindset.

  4. Mindfulness and Meditation: Practicing mindfulness and meditation can help you tune into your thoughts and emotions. This enables you to identify any negative patterns and redirect your focus towards positive and empowering thoughts.

  5. Positive Affirmations: Affirmations are powerful statements that can rewire your mindset. Create a list of positive affirmations that resonate with you and repeat them daily. This practice gradually replaces negative self-talk with uplifting and encouraging thoughts.

  6. Continuous Learning: Embrace a growth-oriented mindset by committing to lifelong learning. Read books, listen to podcasts, and attend seminars related to personal development. Engaging in continuous learning fosters a mindset of curiosity, flexibility, and adaptability.

  1. When dealing with tough times: How you think can really make a difference when you're up against challenges, no matter if they're personal or related to school/work. If you have a growth mindset, you become stronger and see problems as chances to learn and grow. Think of challenges as ways to help you get better, not as things that stop you. Picture what you want to happen and face tough times with a positive attitude, believing you can get through them.

  2. When things don't go as planned: Mistakes or tough times shouldn't label you; instead, they should be seen as lessons that help you do better in the future. When you have a growth mindset, you see mistakes as chances to learn and get better. Understand that messing up sometimes is normal for everyone and that it's a chance to rethink and try again with more strength. By thinking this way, you can turn rough patches into steps that lead you to bigger successes.
